Out of Hours
If you need urgent attention or advice please telephone 01905 422883 or 01905 616977 and an answer phone will give you the number of the GP Emergency Service
Due to the unprecedented demand for our GP appointments we will no longer be accepting face to face bookings at our reception desk unless requested by a GP.
All appointment requests must be made by telephone between 8am and 11am, your request will be triaged by a Doctor or an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and dealt with appropriately.
We offer additional appointments at 18.30 and 18.40 with the doctors between Monday and Thursday
We offer additional appointments at 07.40 and 07.50 with the nurses.
All requests for an appointment on the day will be triaged by our clinical team and dealt with accordingly - you will be asked a few questions by our receptionists in order that you may be directed to the correct clinician. The phone lines are open from 8.00am and we have extra staff manning the phone lines during this busy period. If you wish to discuss any other matters please telephone with queries after 12 noon.
At both medical centres you may be offered an appointment with our advanced nurse practitioner.
The nurse practitioner will be responsible for taking history, examination, diagnosis and treatment for minor illnesses. She is also able to prescribe. She will of course refer/discuss with a doctor when appropriate.
All appointments for our nursing staff must be booked in advance.
Our Phlebotomists hold regular clinics for blood letting. Our Healthcare Assistants see all new patients for advice re: smoking, weight checks, blood pressure checks, ECG's.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO LET THE SURGERY KNOW IF YOU WISH TO CANCEL AN APPOINTMENT.
A MISSED APPOINTMENT COSTS THE PRACTICE £111
Lack of transport is not in itself a reason for a home visit.
If you are too ill to attend then please ring the surgery, if possible before 10.30am so that the rounds can be planned. We realise that most people make considerable efforts to get to the surgery and we are grateful for that. Home visits can take up a considerable time and may result in the doctor being unavailable for emergencies. Give full details and directions to the receptionist if you do require a home visit and your request will be triaged. If you telephone after 10.30am a visit will only be made the same day if the doctor considers the problem urgent.
NOTICE FOR PATIENTS
WINTER PRESSURES AND ADDITIONAL APPOINTMENTS
In recognition of the additional pressures experienced at this time of year and in response to increased demand for appointments we are adding some additional appointments into the system. These appointments are bookable on the day and are for patients who need to be seen urgently.
Our reception staff will offer you one of these appointments if it is appropriate when you ring in for an urgent same day appointment. Unfortunately these appointments are not available to book in advance as they are specifically designed to help with on the day urgent demand.
You will also have the opportunity to book a telephone appointment with a Triage Nurse at the South Worcestershire Healthcare Clinical Contact Centre and our receptionist can book this appointment for you if you feel it would be helpful.
